Year 10 G&A Oxford University Trip

Tuesday the 18th of March 2025

Recently, I had the privilege of attending the More Able Trip to Oxford University with other pupils in my year group. It was an enlightening experience, the day started off with a description of Oxford University by a former student and we were provided with a tasty lunch before taking a tour of St John’s College. The College was full of lovely bits and pieces of history, such as the bronze statues of King Charles I and his Queen Henrietta Maria in the Canterbury Quadrangle. We were then allowed to ask questions to a current student at Oxford, to which we were informed on Oxford and its admissions process. To finish the trip, all of us went to the Ashmolean Museum, and viewed numerous exhibitions, each one more interesting than the other. Not only did we view the artefacts, but we were also given the opportunity to touch and examine artefacts of different eras, such as Roman coins or Greek candleholders. The trip was truly memorable and gave all pupils a wonderful insight into higher education at Oxford University.
