Anthony McGowan Author Talk – North London Collegiate School

Friday 8^th March

On Friday 8^th March we took 20 pupils from Year 7 to North London Collegiate School to hear from award-winning children’s book author Anthony McGowan.

Anthony spoke about his journey from a young age to becoming a writer and author. Anthony won the Carnegie Medal Award in 2020 for his book Lark.  We also listened to what life is like when you are an author, getting inspiration for ideas and then turning them into a book.

Pupils listened to Anthony reading from one of his books and then had the opportunity to ask questions.

It was a wonderful experience for our pupils, who gained insight into becoming a writer and to inspire a passion for reading and writing.
